Park Place House

Since January 2009, we have been required to undertake substantial building improvements in order to comply with current fire regulations. The repairs have been extensive, involving new fire escape routes to the Grade II* listed property, new lighting and alarm systems  and the replacement of much of the furnishings and furniture with alternatives made from fire-resistant material.

The cost of this work is £400,000. The Sisters have negotiated an interest-free loan, of which the Community has raised £100,000 to date. We are now urgently fundraising to pay off the outstanding loan.  Can you help us?  Any donation, large or small, is appreciated.

Park Place is an important base for fundraising for the developing world, where the FSMA Sisters serve the poorest of the poor. Here are just a few of our present mission projects.

• Our home for street children in Mumbai looks after 25 little boys until they are old enough to care for themselves
• Our Sisters in India provide basic education for women and girls in the tribal villages
• We run a school for physically- and mentally-challenged children at Rangwasa, Madhya Pradesh.
• Our clinic at Asbe Tefari  in Ethiopia dispenses free medicine and medical care, funded by the Friends of Park Place.
• We work with the Vincentian Fathers in Tanzania, picking up terminally ill HIV/AIDS sufferers from the streets and giving them medication and palliative care.  We care for children orphaned because of AIDS and left to forage on the streets.
• In Brazil, the slums of Petropolis outside Rio de Janeiro are home to an army of street children who are prey to abuse. Our sisters provide food, shelter and support for these children.
